PARTICULAR HISTORY
This house has a special history, the house was the home of Elfriede Geiringer before and during the war. The Frank family was good friends with Elfriede and they often visited each other. After the war, Otto Frank even married Elfriede. Eva Geiringer Schloss, daughter of Elfriede and stepdaughter of Otto, survived the Holocaust and is now a well-known author. She has written several books, including one in which she shares her memories of living at Merwedeplein 46-1. This book even includes details about the house, including the child's yardstick that should still be behind the small bedroom wallpaper.
